Caring for a Veteran is meaningful work and it can be a lot to carry. When questions pile up or a problem pops up after clinic hours, it helps to have a place to call.
The VA Caregiver Support Line gives caregivers, family members, and Veterans a direct path to real help from people who know the system and can point you to services that fit your situation.

What Is It?
The VA Caregiver Support Line (855-260-3274) is a free, toll-free resource dedicated to assisting family caregivers, friends, and anyone supporting a veteran.
Staffed by licensed social workers, this support line offers emotional support, practical information, and help connecting caregivers to important resources at local VA medical centers across the country. Calls are confidential and you get a knowledgeable person who can listen, answer questions, and connect you with the right resources where you live.
Examples of what caregivers often ask about include: Emotional Support and Counseling: Caregivers can talk with licensed social workers who understand the unique stresses of caregiving. They offer stress management techniques and encouragement to help prevent burnout.
Information on VA Resources: The counseling team provides detailed information about programs such as respite care, monthly stipends, and health care benefits available to eligible caregivers and veterans.
Referrals to Local Support: The support line connects caregivers to local VA medical center teams, known as Caregiver Support Coordinators, who offer personalized assistance and organize caregiver-focused activities and workshops.
Educational Programs: Caregivers can join free monthly telephone education sessions on topics like self-care, communication, and coping strategies. To learn more you can visit: https://www.caregiver.va.gov/help_landing.asp
